And with many such parables He spoke the word to them as they were able to hear it. But without a parable He did not speak to them. And when they were alone, He explained all things to His disciples.

Mark 4:33-34

It's not always easy to keep a godly perspective. Especially in times of pain and hardship, it's not easy to understand why we are experiencing the things we are experiencing. Sure, we probably remember that, having put our faith and trust in Jesus, He is always teaching us -- but sometimes it's difficult to understand what He is teaching. When we're in the thick of a painful, stressful, or confusing situation, we want answers. We want an explanation. And that's exactly what Jesus wants to give.

Jesus wants to explain all things to you. In fact, He is explaining things to us every single day. He explains things through His Word, through prayer, through the Holy Spirit, and through other believers that come our way, teaching and encouraging us in our walk. He doesn't leave us alone. He loves us too much to leave life's answers to our own imaginations. He has given us His teaching, but He's also explaining it all to us. You see, we are not just His students, but His children!

May I encourage you to quiet your heart and listen to Him. If you have questions, ask Him. There may be times He's trying to talk with you, but you're too busy for Him. When you slow down and let Him explain things to you, your heart and mind will feel at ease, and instead of panicking over the things of this world, His teaching will give you peace and confidence.
